Africa-Press – Angola. The Rector of the Methodist University of Angola, Tiago Caungo, stated on Thursday (28) that the National Conference on Human Capital in Angola’s sustainable development, set to take place from the 29th to the 30th of the current month in Luanda, will promote in-depth reflection on the country’s educational advances and challenges.
Speaking about the conference, a government initiative to mark the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence, Tiago Caungo considered this reflection on education to be timely.
For the expert, the conference represents a strategic moment to evaluate the nation’s progress in terms of valuing its human resources.
“When celebrating the jubilee, it is essential to stop and assess the extent to which development processes have been well-managed and how human capital has been used to advance the country’s progress,” he explained.
He emphasized the importance of analyzing the real contribution to training professionals over the past five decades.
Tiago Caungo highlighted the continued growth of Angola’s human capital, a result of investment policies in education and professional training, citing scholarship programs as an example.
