Africa-Press – Angola. The head of the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), aviation general Altino José dos Santos, highlighted, this Friday, in Luanda, the organization’s commitment, in 2024, to the training of men, in infrastructure -structures and armament and technique.

When speaking at the end-of-year greeting ceremony, he considered that these three axes should centralize the FAA’s commitment next year, using parsimonious management of available capabilities.

For the success of this program, according to the FAA’s top brass, it is imperative to foster strong wills to overcome the herculean difficulties of everyday life.

“All of this requires more firmness, persistence and determination from all of our staff, to achieve the recommended objectives”, he expressed.

On the other hand, he recognized that the year about to end was one of enormous challenges for the Armed Forces, where considerable efforts were made in several areas, with emphasis on maintaining the combat readiness of the troops, as well as the construction and rehabilitation of some infrastructures. barracks and hospital structures, to provide greater dignity to the staff.

He also highlighted the restructuring and modernization of the FAA, the training and requalification of officers and sergeants and the strengthening of friendly and cooperative relations with the Armed Forces of friendly countries.

On the occasion, the person responsible recognized that the lack of financial resources, associated with various factors of the internal and international situation, delayed the completion of some works within the deadlines that were defined, “forcing us to continue their implementation in the new year ahead “.

He also highlighted the fact that this year was marked by an adaptation in the performance of his duties.

“This inaugural year for me was marked by an adaptation that, I recognize, proved to be more arduous than expected. However, it is in the moments of greatest challenge that the true essence of our mission reveals itself”, he stressed.

He encouraged FAA personnel not to give up and to always keep the flame of determination burning and embrace this challenge, with the conviction that every obstacle is an opportunity for growth.

The ceremony, held at the 28 de Agosto Conference Center, was attended by the commanders of the three branches of the FAA, general officers, admirals, superiors, captains, subordinates, sergeants, enlisted personnel and civil servants.
