FAF catalogs players in Cunene

Africa-Press – Angola. Eight women’s soccer players, including three for the senior team and five for the Under-20 team, were cataloged in Cunene province.

The information was provided this Monday by the national women’s honors coach, Sousa Garcia, stressing that the cataloging of the athletes resulted from a work of observation and analysis of the technical-tactical individual conception.

He said it was a FAF project with the aim of promoting the practice of the female sport, strengthening the national team and making it more inclusive with athletes from the different provinces of the country.

He referred that four teams were observed during games with the A and B teams made up of athletes from the province.

Sousa Garcia added that in the first phase only eight potential players were catalogued, who will participate in other competitions (female senior national championship), where they will be monitored in order to find out in the end whether they will be part of the selection or not.

In turn, the coach of the U-20 National Team, Sandra Dias, highlighted the number of players inserted in football, who have technical, physical and psychological quality.

He referred that the journey to Cunene made it possible to observe some games and register the athletes who could integrate the work of the national teams for the next international commitments.

“We check players with potential that can be flames already in the Sub-20, in a total of six to 10 athletes, but their effective integration will depend on the individual answers”, he said.

He clarified that as it is a competitive level context, it requires greater demand, responsibility and commitment from the players, which sometimes ends up creating some psychological and emotional pressure.

He added that training at these levels encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, technical and tactical aspects.

He valued the potential of local athletes such as the “Ladainha” considered Cunene’s mascot, which managed to leave the context of the province for the senior national team.
