Africa-Press – Angola. The IV edition of the National Fair of Municipalities and Cities of Angola (FMCA), taking place from the 10th to the 13th of August in the province of Huíla, constitutes an opportunity to promote the stability and economic sustainability of the country.

At the same time, the event will serve to reaffirm the determination of the Angolan Executive to stimulate national and foreign private investment and give sustainability to the municipalities and praise the new dynamics of local governance.

This statement was made by the Secretary of State for Territory Administration, Teresa Fernandes Quivienguele, when she spoke Wednesday, in this city, at the launch and dissemination act of the referred Fair to government members, municipal administrators, provincial directors and businessmen of the provinces of Cuanza Norte, Bengo and Malanje.

According to the official, the Fair will also serve to promote innovation, creativity, digital transformation, the green economy, domestic tourism and the sharing of experiences about life in the 164 municipalities of Angola.

He explained that during the event, experiences of citizen participation in local development processes, the capacity for resilience of municipal administrations, among other aspects related to the search for answers to the population’s problems, will be shared, as well as the discussion of income generation strategies. , the value chain of the different products and the dynamization of industry and rural commerce.

On the other hand, Teresa Quivienguele praised the fact that the event comes at a time when the Executive is approving emergency measures to stimulate the economy and boost the agricultural and other potential, to face the country’s macroeconomic challenges, with a view to increasing internal productive capacity and supply of goods and services, through the competitiveness of the private sector.

On his turn, the deputy governor of Malanje for the Political, Economic and Social sector, Domingos Eduardo considered that the Fair is also asserting itself as a space for the dissemination of the cultural and tourist potential of the country’s municipalities, as well as business competitiveness, towards economic growth.

Meanwhile, he appealed to economic operators to show themselves robust, given the exposure and volume of business to be presented during the Feira dos Municípios e Cidades de Angola.

The fair will take place at the same time as the 9th edition of the National Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Malanje and aims, among other things, to mobilize potential exhibitors from the private business sector, so that they can become the main players in Angola’s economic development.

The 18 provincial governments and 164 municipal administrations, ministerial departments, public and private companies, civil society, investors and producers in the country will participate in it.

The III edition took place on the 22nd and 23rd of November 2022, in Benguela.
