Africa-Press – Angola. The Huambo and Benguela National Open Water Circuits are the highlights of the competition calendar for the 2023-2024 season, released this Wednesday by the Angolan Swimming Federation (FAN).
According to the FAN race list, the Huambo circuit is scheduled for the 21st of January, in Kuango, while the Benguela race is scheduled for the 6th of April, in the city of Lobito .
These are the only national Open Water competitions scheduled outside the province of Luanda this season, according to the document.
In addition to Luanda, the largest development center, Huambo and Benguela have been among the most productive in terms of organizing events, with emphasis on the city on the central plateau, which organized internal festivals in 2019, 2021 and now on the 23rd of this month .
Among 35 competitions of the season, the document lists three national circuits in Open Waters, with another to be played on Ilha do Mussulo, on February 24th.
The calendar also features usual events such as nationals, the African and World Championships, in addition to the “Paris`2024” Olympic Games.
The Luanda Provincial Association (APNL) appears with 17 activities and the governing body with 11. This is followed by three African competitions, two world championships and one Olympic Games.
