Africa-Press – Angola. The banana fair, an event held annually in the province of Bengo to show the agricultural potential of the region, ends Sunday, its work at the Panguila market.

The event counts with the participation of around 150 exhibitors, among farmers’ associations and agricultural cooperatives from the six municipalities that make up the province.

The health, banking, energy, social security and general labor inspection sectors are also present.

Products such as bananas, cassava, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, sugar cane, palm oil, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, kale, oranges and lemons, among other products, are on display at the fair.

Lasting three days, the event takes place under the motto “Agriculture in Bengo creating the bases for the diversification of the economy” and foresees a turnover of around 50 million Kwanzas.

In Bengo, the provincial government controls 156 peasant associations and 187 cooperatives.

The banana fair is the largest stock exchange in the province of Bengo and aims to promote and publicize the agricultural potential of the region.
