Africa-Press – Angola. The Credit and Guarantee Fund (FGC) has issued, since 2012 to date, 781 public guarantees, corresponding to 314 billion kwanzas, said the chairman of the Board of Directors of the institution, Luzayadio Simba.
Speaking this Thursday, on the sidelines of the IV National Conference of Young Entrepreneurs, taking place in the Urban District of Futungo, in Luanda, the manager said that the credits benefited the sectors of agriculture, fishing, livestock and manufacturing industry.
In 2022, he said, around 60 billion kwanzas were issued in terms of credit guarantees, benefiting medium-sized, small and micro-companies and small entrepreneurs who do not have real guarantees to present to commercial banks.
Asked about which companies can benefit from a credit guarantee, he said that to do so one should contact the Fundo de Garantia, directly, and, indirectly, the banks installed throughout the country. “We work with almost all commercial banks operating in Angola”.
“We advise businessmen to continue to use this instrument from the Executive, which has been benefiting many businessmen. “We are open and we wait for demand, but we are also reaching out to entrepreneurs, family farmers and cooperatives.
Young Entrepreneurs National Conference
The IV edition of the National Conference of Young Angolans is taking place at the Belas Conference Center and has the participation of more than two thousand young entrepreneurs and businessmen.
The themes of the meeting are being discussed in panels such as “Presentation of investment opportunities in the provinces of Moxico and Namibe” and “Startups, marketing, and real estate in Angola” and “Professional experiences and investment opportunities”.
During the two days, participants will also be informed about solutions for youth by the Development Bank of Angola (BDA), the importance of investment opportunities in the industry, the importance of feasibility studies, and the United Nations strategic plan for youth empowerment.
On the occasion, the president of the company “Cumbi Group Empresarial”, Cumbi Júnior, organizer of the event, said that the meeting is focused on attracting national investment, through foreign businessmen to invest in Angola and also encourage young Angolan businessmen to invest in other provinces in view of the existing potential.
The organization also invited businessmen from the Federative Republics of Brazil, Mozambique, South Africa and Portugal.
