Africa-Press – Angola. Jean Jacques da Conceição, a former Angolan basketball player, has been inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame.
According to the international press, the former power forward, who started his career at Angola’s 1o de Agosto and was an African champion with the national team, is on a list that includes Spaniards Marc Gasol and Jorge Garbajosa.
Da Conceição is already in the FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Hall of Fame, having been included in the 2013 class. This was in recognition of his impact on and contribution to world and African basketball. He was considered the best African player of all time by FIBA Africa in 2011, and he led Angola to seven Afrobasket titles.
