Africa-Press – Angola. The Criminal Investigation Service in Uíge on Tuesday arrested a 32-year-old citizen, a former employee of the Banco de Poupança e Crédito (BPC), for alleged embezzlement of 150 million Kwanzas.

According to the SIC spokesman in Uíge, Zacarias Fernando, the alleged criminal took advantage of a malfunction in the video surveillance system to subtract the money that was in the bank’s vaults.

He explained that, after subtracting the money, he made several deposits in customer accounts and, later, withdrew them, causing embezzlement to the bank.

The alleged criminal has already been forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to be subjected to the first interrogation.
