Africa-Press – Angola. 1st August – Progresso do Sambizanga and Interclube – Colégio Mandumbo will compete next Saturday, at 10:00 am, in the semi-finals of the 1st edition of the Old Guard Friendship Cup “Luanda Needs You”. The final will take place on 9th November.The first game will take place at the São Domingos ground and will attract a huge avalanche of fans from both teams due to the location of the venue. The military are the favorites to win, but in knockout matches, anything is possible. The Sambilas also have a say.
In the other match, the police face the students and try to maintain “order and tranquility” in the objectives. The expectation is focused on the lesson studied to guarantee passage to the grand final.
Eight teams participated in the competition that precedes the Provincial Championship of Old Guards in Football. In Group A, there are 1.o de Agosto, Aronds, FESA and Camarões, while in B there were Colégio Mandumbo, Progresso do Sambizanga, Interclube and Misto da Ingombota.
The list of top scorers is led by Leandro, a player from Colégio Mandumbo, with six goals, followed by his teammate, Fábio, with four.
The tournament is organized by former referee Evaristo Sales, while João Panguila sponsors the competition.
