Africa-Press – Angola. Inspector Manuel Bole stated that the General Labour Inspectorate (IGT) plays a fundamental role in building a fairer, more transparent and productive labour market, in a context of economic recovery and structural challenges.
According to the inspector, who was speaking at the 22nd National Inspection Week, which opened on Monday (26) in Luanda, the IGT is committed to promoting decent working conditions and defending workers’ rights.
According to Manuel Bole, improving working conditions is an inseparable factor in promoting social justice and the competitiveness of companies.
The labour inspector general thus advocated strengthening the legality of labour relations throughout the country, by providing information and guiding the actions of those involved in legal and labour relations.
He reinforced the institution’s commitment to acting impartially, rigorously and closely, placing the dignity of workers at the centre of its priorities.
The inspector recommended ongoing dialogue with social partners and greater collaboration with other State bodies.
He also advocated institutional strengthening and staff qualifications.
In this sense, he called on inspectors and technical teams involved in the National Inspection Week to perform their role with professionalism, ethics and a sense of mission, to ensure respected and dignified work.
The event takes place from the current 26th to 30th and is an opportunity to reinforce the importance of pedagogy in inspection activities, including legal education in companies and among workers.
At a national level, the Inspection Week is taking place under the motto “IGT 50 years of compliance with labour legislation”.
