Africa-Press – Angola. The Secondary Magisterium of the Institute of Religious Sciences of Angola (ICRA) and 4 de Abril college, won the Literature and Arts contest, with 326 and 215 points, for the 2nd and 1st cycle, respectively, in the categories of poetry, dance, debate, parade, singing and theater, which celebrated Africa Day.
This is an event promoted by the Municipal Administration of Matala, from the 22nd to the 25th of May, as part of the celebrations of the ‘Dark Continent’, which is marked Sunday.
In addition to the art in African costumes that illustrated the elegance and talent of students in the municipality, during the event there was a performance of poetry, dance, debate, parade, singing and theater.
The activity served as an incentive for participants and school managers to develop the cultural values of Africanity.
The head of ICRA, Alfredo Miguel, praised the Administration’s initiative, for providing opportunities for expression, recognition, exchange of experiences, as well as stimulating creativity, technique, innovation, in addition to promoting artistic education and the appreciation of cultural heritage.
In turn, the municipal director of Education, Isaías Cambinda, made a positive assessment of the activities developed within the scope of the Literature and Arts Days, namely the exhibition of books and artistic pieces, as well as the competitions.
The Municipal Administration of Matala promoted the first Literature and Arts Days, to celebrate Africa Day (May 25) and promote writing talents, with priority given to those who portray local potential.
This is an event that was held for the first time with the aim of making known the importance of literature and the arts, identifying potential talents, demonstrating writing skills, showing the potential of the municipality in various sectors of development, preserving and valuing the arts.
