Wiliete de Benguela, in second place with 30 points, try to stop isolation on Saturday, at 3 pm, in the league table of Petro de Luanda, leader with 34, when they face each other for the 13th round of the National Football Championship (Girabola2022 /23), at the Ombaka stadium.
With a difference of four points, in favor of the “petroleum”, Wiliete, who plays as host, try to take advantage of the “heat” of their fans and translate it into better effectiveness on the field. Only the Benguela’s victory prevent the defending champions from moving further down the table.
Wiliete started the competition at the top of the table, a position they held until close to the 10th round, but the oscillation in their performance allowed the “tricolor” club to be disarmed. Even so, the sharpness shown by the Benguela team refers to the prediction of a balanced match.
In 13 games, Wiliete won nine, drew three and lost just one occasion, with a balance of 20 goals scored and eight conceded. The “Catetão” formation, despite two defeats, has 11 triumphs and a tie, in 14 challenges.
The two combined have recorded six meetings since 2019, in which Petro won three and had the same number of draws.
In another standout game of the day, Sagrada Esperança (3rd/24th), with some major casualties, will receive fourth place, 1o de Agosto, with 23 points.
The “lundas”, without goalkeeper Langanga and midfielder Lépua and Dasfaa, are prohibited from losing, as this slip promotes the “military” to the podium.
The “Red Negro” formation has an advantage in the last two duels, after the null draw in the 15th round of the last edition (0-0). Petro thrashed in the closing (30th round), by 3-0.
