Government wants completion of PIIM works in July

Africa-Press – Angola. The government of Lunda Norte province demanded this Monday, the contractors to conclude the works of the Integrated Plan of Intervention to Municipalities (PIIM) in July this year, under penalty of being held criminally responsible for non-compliance with the contractual deadline.

The information was provided by the vice-governor for technical services and infrastructure, Domingos Dala, stressing that the province of Lunda Norte registered 108 projects, of which 46 were completed, 39 were in execution, two were paralyzed and 21 were yet to start.

The person in charge made this statement at the end of the meeting between the government and the contractors, which served to determine the real reasons for the delays in completing 39 works and the stoppage of two works.

According to Domingos Dala, during the meeting “the contractors who have the works at a standstill were recommended to resume them later this month and the 39 in progress should be completed in July of this year”.

“Many of the works have a contract of one year and two years and many of these deadlines have already expired, so we gave the contractors another month for their conclusion, on the contrary we will hold them criminally responsible”, he stressed.

On the other hand, he informed that the 21 projects to be started are awaiting the conclusion of the administrative procedures.
