Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, defended this Thursday the need for the National Police to continue to be the foundation for maintaining order, tranquility and peace.
The governor, who was speaking at the opening of the Extended Consultative Council of the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of the Interior in Uíge, said that the National Police must be ever closer to the population, to repress all illicit acts that occur in the communities.
For this reason, he also said that it is essential that the corporation’s staff act as agents of civic education for the population, so that each citizen knows their rights.
He also defended the continuous technical training of the staff of the different bodies of the Ministry of the Interior, in order to improve their missions.
The official also reaffirmed the commitment of the local government to creating conditions for the corporation’s staff to continue to maintain order and tranquility of the population.
He also exhorted the National Police staff to the need to reinforce public security in the various localities of the province.
The meeting, led by the provincial delegate of Minint in Uíge, commissioner Monteiro Francisco dos Santos, brings together directors of the Migration and Foreigners services, Civil Protection and Firefighters, Criminal Investigation and Penitentiary and municipal delegates.
