Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Huambo province, Lotti Nolika, defended, this Monday, everyone’s involvement in preserving peace and promoting actions aimed at the development and social well-being of the population.

In a message alluding to the 21 years of Peace and National Reconciliation, which marks this Tuesday (04), Lotti Nolika exhorts Angolans to fight for peace, with a view to making the process irreversible and capable of praising the values of national unity , democracy, social justice and full respect for human rights.

According to the governor, the commemorations of the 4th of April should constitute a true journey of reflection and jubilation, with the extolling of patriotic values, love for the country and the union of Angolans in the programmed activities.

He referred that peace must continue to be a supreme good to be preserved, and every child of this “mother Angola” must contribute to its preservation, with positive acts that can spread in the conscience of Angolans, wherever they are on the globe and always in search of the best possible collective response to modern challenges.

The official recalled that the conquest of National Independence, in 1975, did not mean, for the Angolan people, the achievement of peace and tranquility necessary for the desired multifaceted development, quite the contrary, sacrifices had to be consented to maintain sovereignty and integrity of the Motherland.

For this reason, Lotti Nolika stated that the act of signing the Complementary Memorandum of Understanding to the Lusaka Protocol, on April 4, 2002, constituted the milestone that returned hope for a better future for Angolans and the certainty that “together we can build a better country”.

In Huambo province, according to the minister, the 21 years of peace are reflected in the challenges of national reconstruction and in the struggle for the well-being of the population.

The 21 years of Peace in Angola result from the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Angolan Government and UNITA, on April 4, 2002, in the city of Luena, Moxico province.
