Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Malanje, Marcos Nhunga, guaranteed in this city, to improve the accommodation conditions of justice bodies in the province, given the precarious conditions in which they currently operate.
The government official gave this guarantee at the end of a two-day working visit to the province by the Coordinator of the Northern Judiciary Region of the Attorney General’s Office, Neto Joaquim Neto.
Marcos Nhunga said work is underway to evaluate the technical conditions of the former AAA buildings to accommodate the bodies, whose technical opinion will be made by the beginning of April at the latest.
He stressed that the prospect is for the Malanje Provincial Court to return to work in the offices of the old AAA building (evacuated more than three years ago due to cracks).
Meanwhile, the Attorney General’s Office, Military Prosecutor’s Office and the Provincial Justice Delegation will be able to operate in other former AAA buildings, aiming to improve the working conditions of these bodies.
In turn, the Coordinator of the Northern Judicial Region pointed out the lack of decent facilities as the main problem that bodies involved in the administration of justice face in Malanje, hence the need to reverse the situation with greater urgency.
On the other hand, Neto Joaquim Neto said that the crime situation in the province is under control, as the numbers recorded are not alarming.
He made it known that the number of magistrates in the province still does not satisfy the body, but assured that reinforcement of staff is in the works, with a view to balancing the magistrate/citizens ratio.
The coordinator of the Northern Judicial Region of the Attorney General’s Office held a meeting with the provincial governor, Marcos Nhunga, Judge President of the Provincial Court of Malanje, Neves Moxi, and with the provincial delegates of Justice and IGAE, respectively João de Assunção and Zinga Ngola do Céu.
He also visited the facilities of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of the Interior and the former AAA buildings.
