Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Lunda Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, highlighted the rehabilitation of the main access roads, the Kamaquenzo airport and the implementation of Lueji A’nkonde University, as the “great” gains of 21 years of effective peace.

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the ceremony of laying the wreath on the statue of the first president of Angola, Agostinho Neto, he underlined that during the 21 years of peace, it was possible to build 192 schools, a total of 1,673 classrooms classes, six equipped municipal hospitals, five at provincial level, 80 health posts and 13 medical centers.

He informed that the units provide services of general practice, imaging, tomography, ultrasound, X-ray, among others. We also have an oxygen factory, ensured by 115 doctors, 60 of which are specializing in General Surgery, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Comprehensive and Family Medicine, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Neurology and Cardiology.

He highlighted the rehabilitation and expansion of the Luachimo hydroelectric dam, increasing its production capacity from 8 to 34 megawatts, of which 17 are already in production.

Still in the energy sector, he highlighted the installation of the Lucapa photovoltaic plant, which will produce 7 megawatts.

The construction of the centrality of Mussungue, with more than five thousand apartments, the rehabilitation of the Regional Museum of Dundo, are, among others, the gains pointed out by the governor.

On the other hand, he said that the challenge for the local government is to complete the construction of the future Dundo General Hospital (with 241 beds), which will have special services such as hemodialysis, mammography and cardiology, rooms for intensive care, pediatrics, centralized diagnosis, computed tomography, X-ray services, ultrasonography and a day hospital with outpatient services.

It will also have a central block with four rooms, an obstetrics centre, a room for caesarean sections, three for eutostomous deliveries, an emergency room with a surgical area, two endoscopy rooms, one for hemodialysis with two positions, one for isolation. .

The project also includes rooms for rehabilitation and physiotherapy, cardiology, gynecology, a neonatal intensive care unit, a maternity ward, laboratories, a technical building, a morgue, rooms for doctors and nurses, a public space to care for relatives of hospitalized patients. , among other compartments.

The other challenge, he continued, will be the completion of the future university center and the multipurpose pavilion at Chitato, as well as the requalification of the city of Dundo.

On the occasion, he appealed to the population to preserve peace and built assets.
