Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, highlighted the importance of permanent preparation of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), aiming to endow it with the necessary capacity to face threats that could endanger territorial sovereignty and integrity.
Mara Quiosa was speaking this Friday (13th) at the opening ceremony of the first Intensive Training Course on Counter Guerrilla Actions and Jungle Operations, aimed at commanders of small units in the Cabinda Military Region (RMC).
He referred that the course, the first of its kind, has an indispensable and very important character, given the specificity and complexity of the operational and combative action of the forces in the geographic and territorial space of jurisdiction of the Cabinda Military Region.
“This training is intended to train and provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills, thus aiming at success in fulfilling their missions, as well as developing the technical and psychosocial capabilities of counterguerrilla troops in troop commanders, as well as providing them with skills and knowledge for operations in the jungle,” he said.
The minister encouraged the commanders of the small units, who were carefully chosen to attend the training course and subsequently direct the troops under their command, to follow the code of conduct that embodies the identity of the military institution in this specialty.
She said she was convinced that “the participants will be able to materialize this assumption, applying themselves with zeal, dedication, delivery, abnegation and, above all, the patriotic duty in the assimilation of all the themes and practical classes that will be taught during the training action”.
“We encourage all officers of different levels to remain firm in fulfilling the tasks that the Superior Command orders, in order to contribute with your knowledge so that this noble mission of defense of the Angolan homeland continues to be a fact”, he said.
