Governor reiterates call for participation in social public policies

Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of the Interior, Eugénio César Laborinho, reiterated, this Saturday, the appeal to the religious community and society in general to participate effectively in the implementation of social public policies and in community prevention.

Eugénio Laborinho, who made the appeal at the Thanksgiving service of the Tocoista church, said that this should be done with prophylactic actions, aimed at promoting peace, social justice, ethical and moral values, as well as promoting a more cohesive society , supportive and safe.

According to the minister, in recent times, the country has registered a high rate of crimes committed within the family, with emphasis on homicides, sexual assaults, in which the perpetrators have been, in large part, family members (parents, siblings , uncles or neighbors).

This situation, he explained, leads to an introspection in the sense of knowing what kind of society we will have and what measures should be taken to correct negative behaviors and attitudes within youth and family.

He also called for the mediation of local conflicts and the moral and spiritual guidance of families to help the authorities in the process of rehabilitating prisoners and recovering drug addicts, as well as continuing to carry out charitable actions.

For the minister, the church constitutes the moral reserve of society, complementing the role played by government authorities, hence the collaboration with public security bodies, in order to reduce crime, preserve public goods, unite families and rescue of moral and civic values, for the consolidation of the Democratic State of Law, which everyone aspires to.

Bishop Dom Afonso Nunes, from the Tocoista Church, asked God to enlighten the rulers and the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, so that he continues to make wise decisions that meet the needs of the country and the people.

The activity was marked by tributes (delivery of medals and honorable mentions) to religious leaders for their performance and dedication to social actions in the country, with emphasis on the general secretary of the Christian Churches in Angola, reverend Deolinda Dorcas Teca, Simão Lutumba Damião, legal representative of Bom Deus Church, Abílio Joaquim Francisco, among others.

Participating in the act, animated by the choral groups Ebenezer, the fafarra band Tocoista, Kimbanguista and Bom Deus, were the Secretary of State for the Interior, José Paulino da Silva, deputy Julião Mateus Paulo “Dino Matross”, Hermelindo da Silva, second provincial secretary of the MPLA, Adilson de Almeida, director of the National Institute of Religious Affairs, among other guests SEC/VM
