Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Ringote, this Sunday urged the unity of Angolan families, with a view to a more constructive society.
The minister, who was speaking during a thanksgiving mass, defended the search for unity and God, for the construction of a prosperous country for future generations.
At the event, which was also used for the retirement of the Bishop of the Anglican Church of Angola, Dom André Soares, Dalva Ringote highlighted the fact that the Anglican Church is present in 15 of the 18 provinces of Angola.
He underlined the need for women, as they are a large fringe, to bet more on building homes, communities and families, looking to Christ as the foundation in all times and places.
On the occasion, Dom André Soares said that he leaves a more evolved, united and dynamic Anglican church.
He considered that the church’s role should be, among others, that of cooperating with families, because if parents work to educate their children, we will have a better society.
Dom André Soares was the first elected Bishop of the Diocese of Angola and of the Anglican Church of Mozambique on September 14, 2003.
The Anglican Church was established in Angola by the American missionary Archibad Paterson, in 1926, in the mission of Kicaia, province of Uige.
It was recognized by the Angolan Government in 1992 and currently has four bishops.
