Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cuanza-Norte, João Diogo Gaspar, asked for the contribution of churches in moralizing society to build a better environment with dignified conditions for life.

Speaking to the press today, the leader informed that there is already a provincial government program to work with local religious institutions, in order to collaborate in governance.

To achieve this goal, João Diogo Gaspar visited, last Sunday, the Catholic Church, where he interacted with the faithful and held a meeting with the bishop of the Diocese of Ndalatando, Dom Almeida Canda.

Dom Almeida Canda guaranteed the church’s collaboration to improve local governance, through raising awareness and mobilizing citizens to actively participate in citizenship actions.

According to the official, the Government intends to work with all legalized churches to moralize society and improve the population’s quality of life.

João Diogo Gaspar urged young people to behave with integrity in society and not focus on the immediacy that often distorts good coexistence and the meaning of life.

Since his presentation on the 22nd of this month, the new governor of the province has visited public institutions, with emphasis on health units, to learn about their operation, as well as peripheral neighborhoods to verify the conditions of basic sanitation and the functioning of basic social services.

This Monday, the governor visited the provincial directorates and offices.
