Africa-Press – Angola. Gross credit to the non-financial sector in the country reached AOA 4.64 billion in January of the current year, registering a decrease of around AOA 114.77 billion (2.41 percent), compared to the same period, with 92.16 percent representing private sector debt and 7.84 percent public sector debt.
According to the report by the National Bank of Angola (BNA), the indebtedness of the non-financial public sector totaled AOA 362.62 billion, of which 76.37 percent referred to public administration and 23.63 percent to public companies.
Compared to the same period last year, there was a decrease of AOA 56.43 billion (13.47 percent)
In turn, private sector debt (private companies and individuals) recorded a slight decrease of 16.11 billion Kwanzas, from 4.28 billion Kwanzas in January 2022 to 4.26 billion Kwanzas in January 2023, with the indebtedness of non-financial private companies corresponding to 3.34 billion, with a decrease of 109.77 billion Kwanzas and the indebtedness of individuals corresponding to 914.04 billion Kwanzas, with an increase of 93.66 billion Kwanzas.
With regard to the Real Sector, in January 2023, gross credit to the non-Financial sector allocated to the real economy amounted to AOA 1.15 billion, representing 24.68 percent of the total gross credit of the Banking sector.
Compared to the same period last year, there was an increase of AOA 8.50 billion (0.75%). Gross credit granted under BNA Notices to promote the royal sector totaled AOA 701.20 billion, which corresponded to 61.04% of total loans to the royal sector
In terms of the sector of economic activity of the total credit granted to the Real sector, in the period under analysis, emphasis is given to Manufacturing industries with 560.80 billion Kwanzas, of which 395.67 billion Kwanzas correspond to credit under the Notices of the BNA.
Also noteworthy are Agriculture, animal production, hunting, forestry and fishing with 385.22 billion Kwanzas, with 220.22 billion Kwanzas representing the credit granted under the BNA Notices on the promotion of credit to the Real sector and Extractive Industries with AOA 202.65 billion, of which AOA 8.71 billion was granted under the Notices on the granting of credit to the Real sector.
