Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty-seven traditional dance groups represented in ten provinces of the country, exhibit various traditional and folkloric types every day at the Feira dos Municípios e Cidades de Angola (FMCA), with emphasis on some brought by representations from Luanda and Huambo.

These are dances that carry popular manifestations and meanings of Angolan populations, as an intangible heritage and their historical-cultural heritage present in each of the regions of Benguela, Huambo, Moxico, Luanda, Namibe, Cunene, Cuando Cubango, Lundas North and South, as well as Huíla.

Speaking Saturday in Lubango, the head of the cultural action department of the local office for culture, tourism, youth and sports, Elisandra Catraio, underlined that the groups, each in their own stand, are providing more diversified forms of cultural manifestation, through artistic movements.

He made it known that the fair site also served as meetings where traditional and folklore groups are able to share their experience in the field of different identity dances, something that does not always happen.

“One of the importance of these demonstrations, in this event, is that the same traditional groups are sharing cultural traits, including economic potential, contributing to the growth of culture in Angola”, he said.
