Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, traveled this Wednesday to Lisbon, Portugal, to participate in the ceremonies commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, which will take place on April 25th.
At 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the Head of State, accompanied by First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço, received farewell greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, among other individuals present.
João Lourenço is invited to this festive event, in the same way as the presidents of other countries that had the Salazar dictatorship in their historical process.
Also known as the April 25th Revolution, it refers to an event in the history of Portugal resulting from the Armed Forces Movement, which occurred on this day in 1974, which deposed the dictatorial regime in force since 1933.
