The Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Pereira Furtado, reaffirmed, in Cabinda, the need to preserve peace, achieved with much sweat by the Angolans. The official made these statements, Tuesday, at the ceremony for the delivery of 34 vehicles and 35 motorcycles to the Cabinda Military Region (RMC), as part of the process of modernizing the units and sub-units.
He referred that the equipment will allow the Cabinda Military Region to be safer for patrol missions, search, disembarkation and logistical support to the units.
He also announced that other resources will be delivered shortly, with the launch of the National Police’s Reaction and Patrol Unit, as well as the delivery of resources to other bodies. With that, he explained, the process of improving the creation of conditions for the troops and personnel of the National Police (PN) begins.
He appealed to the personnel of the RMC to carry out, with zeal and dedication, the tasks of national defense, as well as the patriotic missions of maintaining the inviolability of borders and the sovereignty of the country’s soil before, during and after the general elections, which will take place in 24th of August next.
For the Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, the elections mean peace, stability, freedom and the consolidation of democracy.
Francisco Furtado was accompanied to the city of Cabinda by the Minister of National Defense and Veterans of the Homeland, João Ernesto dos Santos, the head of the General Staff of the FAA, António Egídio de Sousa e Santos, and the second commander-general of the National Police. , Antonio Pedro Kandela. On the occasion, the governor of the province, Marcos Nhunga, said that, with the reinforcement of resources to the personnel of the Cabinda Military Region, it will allow the actions of peacekeeping in the region to be redoubled.
