Africa-Press – Angola. The Moxico Municipal Hospital bank lacks blood bags to respond to emergency situations, said this Monday, in the city of Luena, the director of the hospital unit, Jorgina Muhunga.

The blood bank of the Hospital in the province’s seat of the same name has a capacity to store 50 bags, and is currently running out of limited stock.

The person in charge regretted that several times they resorted to other hospitals to get the liquid and save lives, increasing the pressure on these health units.

The official appealed to civil society to engage in the cause, given the demand at that time marked by the increase in cases of malaria.

“The patient has to wait for the blood and not the patient”, said the person in charge of the hospital that mostly serves residents of the peripheral neighborhoods of Luena, relieved the General Hospital of Moxico.

With the capacity to admit 180 patients, the Municipal Hospital resumed its normal service to the public this Sunday, after registering a power outage on the night of Friday to Saturday.
