Africa-Press – Angola. Lubango The municipality of Lubango, province of Huíla, will host, from the 28th to the 30th of this month, the Command and General Staff Training of the Army in the Southern and Central military regions.
The activity is part of the directive of the Chief of the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces and of the Methodological Indications of the Army Commander for Operative, Combative, Patriotic Educational Preparation, for the period of Instruction 2023/2024.
The information was advanced Monday, by the head of the Communication and Image Division of the Department of Patriotic Education of the Army, Colonel Adriano Lopes, who said that it is an event that aims to contribute to the preparation and improvement of the Commands and Major States, Arms and Services Directorates in operational, combative, patriotic educational preparation at different levels.
The officer referred that the training will take place at the Headquarters of the Southern Military Region and at the Inter-Arms School for Army Sergeants, with approaches to topics related to general tactics, patriotic education, infantry shooting, preparation of united order, physics and special, military regulations, health and topography, as well as engineering, telecommunications and general tactics.
Adriano Lopes explained that general and senior officers, members of the Command and General Staff, advisers from the Army and from the Southern and Central military and air regions, the Angolan Navy and the National Police will participate in the event.
According to the official, after carrying out the Training of the Command and General Staff with the South and Center military regions, the commander of the Army, General João Serafim Kiteculo, will visit the South and Center military regions, with the aim of verifying the level of engagement of the effective combative operational preparation and patriotic education, quartering conditions, medical and drug support, leisure, culture and military sport.
He highlighted that this is a continuity event, as the partial training of the Command and General Staff, in the 1st period, in March of the current year, lasted one day, and was aimed at the Heads of Arms and Services Directorates and independent divisions ,
The Instruction Year 2023/2024 lasts for ten academic months, which runs from March 1st/2023 to January 31st/2024, divided into two periods of instruction, with five months each.
The 1st Period from March 1st to July 31st. The 2nd Period from September 1st to January 31st, with breaks in February and August. The evaluation of each period will take place in the months of July and January.
