Africa-Press – Angola. The African Methodist Episcopal Church (IMEA) seeks official recognition in Angola, for its implantation and expansion, said Wednesday, in Luanda, its North American bishop Silver Bearmen.
The priest, who has been on a working visit to the country since Monday, was received in an audience by the secretary general of the MPLA, Paulo Pombolo, with whom he addressed, among other issues, the implantation of the church in Angola.
At the end of the meeting, the bishop informed that IMEA is in the process of registering in the country and that it intends to expand its missionary action.
Headquartered in the United States of America, this church has 42 religious temples and develops, in addition to the mission, actions in the sectors of education, health and social services.
During the visit, which ends on Wednesday, the bishop will carry out a series of activities, with emphasis on the ordination of the leader of this Church in Angola.
