Africa-Press – Angola. The National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI) will hold, on Thursday, in Luanda, the first Internet Governance Forum in Angola.
The event plans to address various topics in a round table, including “The importance of the Internet in modern society, and the promotion of responsible and inclusive use of the Internet”, “Regulation and Cooperation in Internet Governance”, “Digital Marketing Strategies” , “The internet and Communication Infrastructures in Angola”.
In addition, the topics “Access to Digital Education”, “Emerging Technologies and Career Opportunities”, “Digital Ethics and Social Responsibility”, “Regulation and Cooperation in Internet Governance”, “Global Harmonization of Standards”, will also be analyzed. “Protection of Human Rights Online”.
The program of activities also includes approaches to “Responsibility of Online Platforms”, “Multisectoral Cooperation”, “Protection of Critical Infrastructure and Cybersecurity”, “Social Networks, Right to Privacy and Security”, as well as “Innovation and Adaptation Regulatory”.
Debates are also expected on “Electronic Commerce and Marketplace”, “Advantages and Challenges of Digital Marketing in Angola”, “Current state of the Internet in Angola”, “Challenges and solutions for digital acceleration in Angola”, “Online Security and Attack Prevention”, “Technological Innovations and Data Privacy”.
The one-day event will be opened by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira.
According to the organization, Internet Governance refers to the process of establishing rules, regulations, policies and principles that guide the use, development and administration of the Internet on a global, regional and national scale.
By May 2023, Angola had more than nine million people with access to the internet.
