INSS makes coercive charges to 89 companies

Africa-Press – Angola. Eighty-nine companies in the province of Lunda-Norte were notified by the National Social Security Institute (INSS) to regularize their workers’ benefits within 30 days.

The INSS began, this year, with coercive collections from companies that do not comply with the payment of their workers’ installments, forcing them to settle the debt immediately.

If this is impossible, the alternative is to seize the assets of these entities.

The measure serves to safeguard workers’ rights, in accordance with the law.

This is a process in which companies had already been sensitized and had the opportunity to benefit from interest and fines exemption, as well as the possibility of voluntarily regularizing, through the conclusion of an agreement that allows the debt to be paid in installments..

Speaking to the press, the head of the National Department of Social Security Debt Regularization and Collection, Lourenço da Silva, said that in Lunda-Norte, 130 companies had been notified and only 29 had regularized their debts, while eight had signed a settlement agreement. in installments and 89 did not respond to notifications.

He appealed to the 89 companies to go to the local INSS, in order to negotiate the issue of debts, because after the 30 days they will be obliged to pay in full, without negotiations.

Press found that the debt of these companies is around more than one billion kwanzas.
