Africa-Press – Angola. Interclube coach Roque Sapiri promised (Tuesday), in Luanda, to continue working for his new team to achieve victories and improvements in the league table of the National Football Championship (Girabola2024/25).
Speaking to the press at the end of the 21st round of the competition, in which Interclube defeated Desportivo da Huíla 2-0, the coach stated that, despite it being his first match in charge of the squad, he already felt 40 percent of his philosophy and tactics had been implemented.
Recently hired to replace Mateus Agostinho “Bodunha”, the new coach of the “police” team added that there is still a lot of work to be done and other factors to get the squad to his liking, but that everything will depend on the projects and what the board recommended when he arrived at the club.
Regarding the match, he stressed that it was a game with a very balanced first half, but his team knew the importance of the match and did everything they could to secure the victory and the three points.
In turn, Paulo Torres, coach of Clube Desportivo da Huíla, pointed out flaws in the central defense that led to the defeat against Interclube.The coach said that the game was very balanced, especially in the first half, because they were very involved in the opponent’s area, but his players were unable to finish.
In the next round (22nd), Interclube (8th/28 points) will host Isaac de Benguela on the 30th of this month, at the 22 de Junho Stadium, in Luanda, while Desportivo da Huíla (7th/29) will face Desportivo da Lunda Sul.
