Africa-Press – Angola. The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) seized a truck carrying 20,632 liters of W-10 hydraulic oil that was allegedly smuggled into the city of Malanje on Friday.
According to the SIC spokesperson, Alexandre Cambolo, the 48-year-old driver was also arrested for alleged involvement in the crime of embezzlement of subsidized goods purchased with state resources.
He said that the arrest occurred when SIC officers assigned to the Department for Combating Organized Crime, caught the suspect driving a Renault truck carrying the oil in 1,000-liter barrels, and that after being questioned, the driver said he did not have any documents authorizing the transportation of the product.
The driver has been arrested and will be presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for subsequent legal proceedings.
