Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty-six works of art by final-year students of the Arts School Complex (CEARTE) are part of the exhibition named “Artistic Connections,” which opens on Wednesday ( 6th), at Iron Palace in Luanda City.
CEARTE’s Coordinator of Fine Arts, Manuel Ventura, announced that the exhibition, which will run until the 20th of this month, includes paintings, printmaking, ceramic sculptures, and weaving.
He stated that the event’s objective is to showcase the artistic talents of the 36 secondary school students from the 2024/2025 school year and launch them into the cultural market.
In addition to the exhibition, he informed that there will be the presentation of a section entitled “Atelier Conversations,” a dialogue on the arts with visual artist Benjamim Saby, as well as by the visual artist Don Sebas Cassule, with the goal of sharing their experiences with the next generation.
CEARTE is a technical-professional secondary school for the arts in Angola, located in Camama, Luanda. It was opened in 2015 and offers training in areas such as visual arts, dance, music, theater and cinema.
The educational institution has 20 classrooms, a boarding school to accommodate 164 students, a 300-seat auditorium, a multi-sport gymnasium, a 400-seat outdoor amphitheater and a physics laboratory.
CEARTE promotes artistic and academic workshops, short film festivals such as “Cinema in Schools”, and other activities to encourage artistic production among students.
