Israel wants Angola to mediate the conflict with Palestine

Africa-Press – Angola. Israel intends for Angola to play an important role as a mediator in the conflict between it and Palestine, the ambassador of that Middle East country, Shimon Solomon, announced this Friday in Luanda.

Speaking at a press conference at the António Agostinho Neto Memorial, Shimon Solomon referred that Angola has a “very vast” experience in conflict management that can contribute to the end of the conflict between the two States.

According to Solomon, Angola has transmitted its experience at the African level for the resolution of many conflicts, giving the example of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) – Rwanda case, which would make it a “good mediator” for the end of the Israeli conflict -Palestinian.

The diplomat made it known that his country wants an end to the conflict with Palestine and the achievement of a lasting peace between the two States.

Regardless of changes in government and political parties, there is a consensus on the situation with Palestine regarding the need for peace.

He added that Israel agrees with the idea of ​​two States and two Nations and wants agreements in this sense.

“There is already too much suffering. The war lasts as long as it lasts and we want, on the side of Palestine, to have a strong leadership that can definitely lead us to the peace that is so much hoped for”, he stressed.

Israel’s representative in Angola, Mozambique, DRC and São Tomé and Príncipe, Shimon Solomon said that the war and attacks that Israel has suffered, as a small country surrounded by enemies, led him to seek solutions “to deal with these problems ”.
