Africa-Press – Angola. A group of 20 Italian businesspeople is interested in investing in agribusiness, logistics, transportation, tourism, and renewable energy in Angola, with a view to strengthening investment from this European country in Angolan territory.
The announcement was made in Luanda by the senior technician of the Angola-Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Stefano Daperno, on the sidelines of the 8th African Union – European Union Business Forum, which began Monday (24) in the Angolan capital. He said that this intention extends to the entire primary sector, particularly the manufacturing industry, along with renewable energies.

With this purpose, the group of 20 Italian private companies are in the country participating in the African Union – European Union business forum, with the aim of assessing the real opportunities available and seeking more details about projects of common interest.
The official stressed that, alongside this action, the chamber recently held a forum in Luanda on the opportunities in agribusiness in Angola, which was attended by another 10 Italian companies for the first time.
On the other hand, Stefano Daperno considered the holding of this forum in Luanda as an opportunity for Angola to attract private direct investment to finance structuring projects such as the Lobito Corridor.
“Angola should take full advantage of the massive participation of European governments and companies in this forum to boost the financing of business opportunities that the country has,” he pointed out.
In turn, Francisco Jurado, director of the Spanish company Elecnor in Angola, hopes that this forum will be able to identify new forms of financing and investment to enable the private sector to continue supporting the development of Angola and Africa in the general context.
He stressed that the company he represents will continue to seek partnerships to develop projects in various areas, mainly in the fields of energy and water.
He mentioned that Angola has enormous investment potential in the areas of energy generation, electricity distribution, and water production and distribution.
The opening ceremony of the Intercontinental Business Forum was presided over by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano.
At least 600 individuals are participating in the event, including business leaders, investors, and government officials from Africa and Europe. The objective is to promote economic cooperation and investment between the African Union and the European Union, explore investment opportunities, present projects, and identify achievable results to unlock more funding.
The event, which ends this Tuesday (25), features high-level panels on financing, digital connections, transport and logistics, as well as investing in youth businesses in Africa.
