Africa-Press – Angola. UNITA’s Permanent Political Commission member, Ernesto Mulato, reacted to Jardo Muekalia’s departure to PRA-JA by stating that no political party can “tie” one of its members to its ranks.
When asked by Novo Jornal about the integration of the former UNITA representative in the United States of America into PRA-JA Servir Angola, Ernesto Mulato stated that people are free to make their own decisions.
“We don’t have much to comment on this case. We live in a democracy and no party can tie down its member who wants to leave the organization,” he added, noting that Jardo Muekalia was no longer politically active within UNITA.
It should be noted that the former UNITA representative in the USA joined the ranks of the party led by Abel Chivukuvuku, who also left the ranks of UNITA, as did a good portion of its leading members, as did the rest of the party.
According to a note from the party’s Communications and Marketing Secretary, Jardo Muekalia’s entry into PRA-JA, “will contribute significantly to expanding the more inclusive political project, counting on his experience as a diplomat.”
“He is a personality of recognized competence and prestige, with a vast national and international career in the areas of diplomacy, international relations and political strategy,” the note says.
According to the note, throughout his career, Muekalia stood out for his uncompromising defense of democratic values, his patriotic stance and his permanent dedication to political interests.
“Your membership reinforces the enormous human, intellectual and political value that has consolidated our party’s position,” the statement concludes.
