Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, spoke at the beginning of the afternoon of this Wednesday, by telephone, with the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, following the efforts he is undertaking towards the pacification of the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC ).
In a communiqué, the Presidency of the Republic refers that the contact served to assess the situation on the ground, mainly the commitments assumed by each of the parties within the scope of the Luanda Summit.
“Presidents João Lourenço and Paul Kagame, in the telephone conversation, jointly appreciated the perspectives for the operationalization of all the agreed mechanisms so that there is peace and security in the eastern region of the DRC”, reads the note.
