Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, congratulated, this Wednesday, the people and the Government of Cape Verde, on the 48th anniversary of National Independence, which is celebrated yesterday.
The “5th of July takes us back to the recent history of your country, to remember the important achievements of the great precursors of the Cape Verdean Republic”, expressed in a message by the Angolan Head of State to his counterpart José Maria Neves.
In the missive, the Angolan statesman says he has “great appreciation” for the modern vision of that country’s leaders, who projected a development based on very solid democratic pillars.
He states that the modern vision of Cape Verdean leaders is also based on principles that “confer a great openness to the flow of capital that have enabled the dynamization of a consistent and successful Cape Verdean economy”.
João Lourenço underlines the fact that Cape Verde and Angola have a common past “with paths that intertwine throughout their history, which encourages our peoples to continue walking together, with a view to defending the great interests that we pursue jointly”.
The Angolan statesman expresses, in the document, the desire to carry out initiatives of mutual interest, tending to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, on the basis of which they will boost the construction of progress, development and well-being of the respective peoples.
João Lourenço wishes good health, success and prosperity for the people of Cape Verde.
Angola and Cape Verde have political-diplomatic and cooperation relations in various areas, with emphasis on agriculture and livestock, training of staff in the areas of veterinary research, transport, agronomy, forestry and hydraulics.
