Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of UNITA in Lunda-Norte, Domingos Oliveira, acknowledged, in Dundo, that one of the greatest achievements of the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, was his selfless dedication to the cause of national unity.
Domingos Oliveira stressed that the country has lost one of the most outstanding children who, over several years, gave his life for the benefit of the Nation.
“José Eduardo dos Santos leaves great works for the country”, he said, having underlined, by the way, that, in this hour of pain and mourning, the patriot’s deeds must be remembered.
The UNITA politician added that former President José Eduardo dos Santos will live on in the memory of the two peoples, through the ideals he defended and transmitted to Angolans.
Cuban Community
The Cuban community residing in Lunda-Norte considers José Eduardo dos Santos one of the best friends of his homeland.
Humberto Hernandes stated, on behalf of the community, that his “country is saddened by the death of a great man, who knew how to value friendship between peoples”.
