Africa-Press – Angola. Joseane dos Santos, one of the youngest daughters of the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, yesterday remembered her father as the “father of the nation” and thanked the Executive for the support of the family in holding the State funeral.
“On behalf of my family, I thank all those present who joined us to celebrate the life of the great man we lost”, he said, leaving a “recognition to the members of the Executive who made this day possible”.
Music and sport have always been his true passions. It was pleasant to be able to wake up to the sound of his guitar and hear him sing. Music will always be our meeting point”, recalled Joseane dos Santos
“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that today, as a representative of the bereaved family, we are all here present and united to pay respect to our father”, he said, considering that the “words are not enough to describe” the father figure.
Urn in the Grave
The urn containing the body of the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, was deposited this Sunday in the tomb, built in Praça da República, in Luanda, whose ceremony was led by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The former Angolan Head of State died on the 28th of July, in Barcelona, Kingdom of Spain, due to illness.
