Africa-Press – Angola. The Revolutionary Youth of Angola (JURA) in Moxico reaffirmed the need to safeguard democratic values and respect for guarantees and fundamental freedoms in the country.
Speaking to the press, the provincial secretary of JURA in Moxico, Elina Sapassa, at the opening of a festive day of this UNITA organisation, to be celebrated on the 18th of July.
According to the youth leader, respect for the principles will contribute to guaranteeing the country’s social and political stability, “which is intended to get better and better”.
As for the country’s political situation, he asked for the implementation of measures aimed at improving the population’s social conditions, which tend to worsen, judging by the devaluation of the national currency in the international market.
Despite being founded on October 28, 1974, JURA celebrates July 18 in honor of David Jonatão Chingunji “Samwimbila”, the first president of the youth organization.
During JURA’s commemorative days, various political, social and philanthropic actions are planned, as well as posthumous tributes to national figures of the organization.
