Africa-Press – Angola. Jurist Pelágio Pukulukeni advised, in Ondjiva (Cunene), parents to pay more attention to the care and education of their children, for the well-being of society.
The jurist spoke about “the importance of valuing the father within the family”, a theme included on March 19th, Father’s Day.
He said that a parent must always be present in supporting, raising and educating their children.
He recalled that a child with the opportunities and facilities they deserve from their parents contributes to a healthy harmonious development.
Pelágio Pukulukeni repudiated the behavior of parents who shirk their family responsibilities.
For her part, the director of the Social Action, Family and Gender Equality office in Cunene, Georgina Braga, said that the lecture, addressed to National Police personnel, served as a reflection on the date.
He explained that the objective is to enhance the role of parents in the family.
He highlighted the importance of the day, a recognition of responsible fatherhood, remembering that the father must always seek to transmit good values, for the moralization of the family.
Georgina Braga highlighted that cases of evasion of paternity and violation of children’s physical, psychological and emotional rights sometimes involve the parents themselves.
Therefore, he called for responsible parenthood that puts the child at the center of priorities.
