Africa-Press – Angola. Kenya plans to invest in the sectors of agriculture, tourism, culture, health and education, in Moxico province, said yesterday in Luena, the chargé d’affaires of that country’s embassy in Angola, Andrew Agufana Mujivane.

The diplomat expressed such interest during an audience he held with the governor, Ernesto Muangala, as part of a three-day working visit to Moxico to identify the opportunities and potential the region has.

Agriculture, tourism, culture, health and education are areas that interest Kenyans.

He said that cooperation in these sectors will take place in two ways, namely, sending Angolan technicians to Kenya in order to be trained or moving specialists to Angola with the same objective.

He explained that, despite the good political relations that both countries have, Kenya needs “a lot” to learn from Angola’s experience in the oil sector.

In turn, the provincial governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, reaffirmed that Moxico is one of the provinces with the greatest agricultural potential and is available to receive Kenyan and other investors.

The governor reiterated that Moxico is also rich in minerals and water resources, but the focus on training staff for both sectors is crucial, fundamentally in the tourism sector.

Even the delegation from the embassy visited the wood processing industry, planning to travel to the municipality of Camanongue on Tuesday to visit the professional training centre.

Angola and Kenya have very long relations of friendship and cooperation in the economic, scientific, technical, political and cultural fields, among others.
