Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Angolan Women’s League (LIMA), Helena Bonguela, this Thursday, in the city of Sumbe (Cuanza Sul), encouraged women to actively participate in the country’s economic and social development, for the well-being of being of populations.
Helena Bonguela was speaking after her arrival in the city of Sumbe, where she will make a 24-hour working visit, as part of the celebrations of the 51st anniversary of the founding of the women’s organization of the UNITA party, to be marked on the 18th of this month, under the motto “Valuing, empowering and defending democracy”.
On the occasion, the official highlighted the role of Angolan women in the liberation struggle that culminated in the conquest of national independence, defending, therefore, more opportunity for this fringe of society, in order to continue to contribute, with their knowledge, in the development of the country in the most varied sectors.
“Women must continue to make their contribution so that we have a united, inclusive and participatory Angola”, he stressed.
He exhorted the Executive to continue investing in the construction of roads, housing, schools, hospitals, among other infrastructures, for the benefit of the population.
During her stay in Cuanza Sul, the president of Lima will visit the municipalities of Mussende, Quibala and Amboim, with a view to verifying the level of organization of the party’s structures.
The Angolan Women’s League was created on June 18, 1972, in the province of Moxico.
