Africa-Press – Angola. Banco Internacional de Crédito (BIC) and the group Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA) will hold, next Thursday (07), in this city, a Forum called “The Lobito Corridor – A HUB to Boost the Angolan Economy ”.

According to a press release sent this Monday, the III BIC/RNA Forum will consist of two panels, in which topics such as: The contribution of the Lobito Corridor to the international development of Angola and The importance of logistics centers to along the Lobito Corridor.

The role of banking in financing the economy and the Lobito Corridor as a driver of development are other issues that will be under analysis.

The document states that the BIC/RNA forum is part of a strategic partnership between its national institutions, concerned with the economic development of Angola, at a stage in which the country needs all its strengths to diversify its economy.

The meeting will bring together public and private entities, as well as other institutions and national experts in the sector.

Lobito Corridor

With privatized management, for a period of 30 years, through the “Lobito Atlantic Railway” consortium, formed by the companies Vecturis, Trafigura and Mota Engil, the Lobito Corridor covers the city’s port, the ore terminal and the Benguela Railway , whose railway stretches 1,344 kilometers in length (Angola), connecting Luau to the Atlantic.

Given the strategic role for regional economic development, more than two billion dollars were invested in the rehabilitation and modernization of infrastructure and circulating means of the Lobito Corridor, with a view to boosting the transport of various goods, benefiting the three border countries (Angola, DR Congo and Zambia).
