Lídia Amaro was speaking on behalf of the provincial governor of Benguela, Luís Manuel da Fonseca Nunes, at the second Business and Connectivity Forum, an initiative of the Media Nova Group, with the participation of 127 entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and investors, 44 of which are companies.
According to the deputy governor, Benguela has logistical infrastructure and opportunities that allow sustainable business to be carried out, with the main highlight being the Lobito Corridor.
In practice, in the opinion of the minister, the Lobito Corridor constitutes a logistical platform for access to the import of consumer and industrial goods, serving as a catalyst for domestic production, promoting the promotion of the salt and fish production industry.
He also underlined that, in the medium or long term, the Lobito Corridor will serve as a transport channel for petroleum derivatives from the future Lobito Refinery, an important development factor for the entire region.
Regarding the advantages for a business environment in Benguela province, the official said that they also extend to the tourism sector and agricultural production, judging by the existence of appropriate land, abundant water resources and mineral resources.
Facing agricultural production as a fundamental element to achieve food self-sufficiency, Lídia Amaro made it known that the Provincial Government of Benguela wants to contribute actively in the search for efficient solutions that promote development.
“We believe that this challenge is only possible with the materialization of increased investments in key sectors, such as training, industry and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)”, he asserted.
The expectation, as I said, is that the 2nd edition of the Business Forum will produce a profound reflection on the relations between the countries, with a view to obtaining satisfactory results in terms of cooperation and promotion of growth and development on the continent.
“I hope that this Business Forum produces good results and allows the identification of new business opportunities that promote collective well-being”, concluded the deputy governor before the participants of the event, which takes place in the municipality of Catumbela, province of Benguela .
The Business and Connectivity Forum (Business and Networking) was designed from the perspective of exchanging ideas on intra-African businesses, to generate facilities within the projected African Free Trade Area.
The meeting is discussing the best ways to explore the challenges and opportunities of the profitable business world in the national and continental market.
