Africa-Press – Angola. The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) arrested on Saturday, at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, in Luanda, two national citizens, aged 27 and 28, for having stolen more than eight thousand euros from a Portuguese-Angolan passenger who was heading to Lisbon (Portugal).
The information was provided this Sunday by the director of the Institutional Communication and Press Office of SIC-Geral, Manuel Halaiwa, for whom the citizens in question are employees of the Industrial and Residential Security company (SIR), which provides services at the International Airport, and fraudulently stole more than eight thousand euros from the travel bag of a 73-year-old passenger.
“The facts are the result of a thorough investigation carried out in the course of a complaint filed by a passenger who had forgotten to leave his belongings behind after the Taag Angola Airlines flight was cancelled for technical reasons,” explained the director.
He reported that from the investigative work carried out, it was possible to recover the amount of 3,260 Euros and 178 thousand kwanzas from these employees, which had already been distributed.
He stressed that the SIC and other airport authorities are engaged in clarifying the facts, and that efforts are ongoing to determine and detain others involved.
The arrest was made by the SIC, through its National Criminal Investigation Department at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, in operational coordination with other forces in the International Airport security system.
The passenger continued his journey to Lisbon, hours after the TAAG flight was rescheduled.
