Africa-Press – Angola. Three thousand and eight different cases were processed in the courts of the District of Luanda and Belas (1st judicial region), from January to February of this year (2024).

Of this number, 1,573 cases were decided in the first instance and 1,435 are ongoing, according to the member of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSMJ), judge Artur Manjata.

These include criminal and civil cases, as well as family, work, minors and others that were processed in the support units for guarantee judges.

Artur Manjata was speaking, this Monday, during the publication, by TPA, of the national procedural statistics produced by the district courts of the five judicial regions of the country, within the scope of the speed of processes, the elimination of procedural pendency and bringing citizens closer to courts, in order to satisfy their right to information from the judicial forum.

The national procedural statistics of the District Courts, to be released weekly, initially made reference to data from the 1st and 5th judicial regions.

Still in the first region, the Bengo District Court received 204 cases, of which 150 were judged in the first instance and 54 are ongoing, while the Court of Cabinda received 225, having judged 234. 991 are ongoing in this judicial instance. Law Suit.

As for the fifth judicial region, the Lunda-Sul District Court processed 207 cases (179 were judged and 28 are ongoing), the Lunda-Norte District Court received 364 cases, of which 229 went to trial and 135 are ongoing.

The Moxico District Court, also in the 5th region, processed 725 cases, judged 667 and has 58 ongoing.
