Africa-Press – Angola. The province of Malanje has, since this Monday (4), a fuel rail terminal, with a storage capacity of 600,000 liters and its pumping system duly rehabilitated.
The structure was inaugurated by the deputy provincial governor of Malanje for the Political, Economic and Social Sector, Domingos Eduardo, on the occasion of the festivities of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation, marked yesterday.
The project, which results from a partnership between Caminhos de Ferro de Luanda (CFL) and the business group “Parametro Perfeito”, will allow, in a first phase, to transport, weekly, from Luanda to Malanje, around 1.3 million liters of diesel.
Speaking at the inauguration of the structure installed at the railway station in Malanje, the chairman of the Board of Directors of CFL, Júlio Bango Joaquim, explained that the project’s main objective is the process of transporting fuel by rail.
Júlio Bango informed that, for the success of the operation, the CFL will make available to the company “Parametro Perfeito” 12 locomotives and seven tank wagons with the capacity to transport 333 thousand and 600 cubic meters of fuel per trip. transport 1 million 333 thousand and 400 cubic meters per week, with three frequencies.
The CFL CEO also stressed that, with the aim of increasing the fuel transport capacity, for “the coming times”, the repair of another 20 tank wagons that will also be made available to the “Parametro Perfeito” group, to alleviate the transport capacity to 112 million cubic meters per trip.
The director general of the business group “Parametro Perfeito”, Joana Cardoso, highlighted the support of the provincial government of Malanje in the rehabilitation of the premises where the railway equipment was implanted and its registration in the inauguration program of the various works in progress, within the scope of the festivities. of Peace.
Call For Investment
The deputy provincial governor of Malanje for the Political, Economic and Social Sector, Domingos Eduardo, expressed satisfaction with the fact that Malanje was elected to implement this “important infrastructure”.
Domingos Eduardo recalled that the province of Malanje, in terms of the strategies of the National Development Plan 2018-2022, is seen as a logistics platform. In his view, the rail terminal will contribute to the increase and improvement of fuel expansion.
The deputy governor asked the Parameter group to also invest in agro-industry, infrastructure, transport, roads, tourism, goods and services and in key sectors of the economy.
“This investment is valued today, especially as we are celebrating 20 years of hard-won peace that cost the lives of many Angolans”, he stressed.
